USA

Zellyn posted an article on his website, about how the USA is all about doing some bullshit. This is more lame than all the accusations I've heard about fighting a war on terror, or how President Bush is masterminding the end of the world so that he can ensure that he has enough oil to drive an SUV. That's arguably a lot of people believing a lot of hype (and I get tired of it, frankly).

This is straight up human-rights violations.



It is sad given that the USA started like this:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

yeah, people will fight so hard to make sure no homosexuals get married and abortion doctors can't work, how odd that the majority of Christians doesn't care about the torture issue, let alone get incensed about it.

i wonder if the problem is not the people but the goverment. what would truly happen if any US citizen openly tried to abolish the american goverment?
in response to lisa, to first figure out if most "christians" dont care about the torture issue, i suppose the step is to define "christian", that's hard enough. then to poll ever single one of those "christians" and get their opinion without brainwashing them with the bias of the person doing the survey might be tough as well... all in all, i personally dont know many people that like to hurt others, or for others to be hurt, christian or not.
